In the fifth book of this series, the world is ablaze, with both heroes and villains fighting violently to hold onto what they love most, but who will win? Unfortunately we have one more book before we find out, but what a ride as we travel to get there. Morena’s goal is nearly attained (the USA's east coast has been destroyed as the government hides safely underground), meanwhile Kenneth Marks plots a grab for power. But who will win?While some might find Five Books leading up to the (future and final upcoming) Sixth Book's climatic end tiring, I almost feel its not enough. The way David Beers weaves his storyline, his detailed and well developed characters through the world he created, you feel reluctant to leave it (by putting the book down). Like potato chips, one reading isn't enough. I've read each book in this series a minimum of three times each, some of them even more than that.
It sure would be nice to watch Nemesis on a bigger screen instead the small one in my head, someone please make this a movie (or better yet, a TV Series). I eagerly await the day some producer discovers it and makes my dream a reality. No noticeable typos, errors in sentence structure. Highly Recommended.

Nemesis, Book Five is the world moving inexorably toward the destruction of the human race at the hands of the alien invaders? Or will mankind finally find the way to stop the process of destruction? Book Five has moved us a further step to the final answer but the future is looking very scary for humanity. However, it is interesting to note the author's take on the roles of men and women in government. Looking back to the first book in the series, we start out on the alien planet governed by hereditary female rulers. It is a peaceful planet, war is absent. But the problem the ruler must confront is that the planet is dying. She must migrate to another planet which can provide the heat her race needs to survive. Her husband is from another planet which knows conflict and fighting. Granted the alien ruler is conflicted in how to subdue Earth's population but she must establish her race. But in Book Five a new personality arises, her firstborn son, who clearly has no problem going on a rampage. He seems to have the warlike spirit his mother lacks, but which he may have inherited from her husband. Will the warrior son triumph over Earth's male defenders or will his mother reach some peaceful compromise with humanity? We'll know when Book Six completes the series!
The first 5 books of this series are fantastic.
As the 5th installment in this series, we pick up the struggle between Morena, her children and humanity. What a struggle it is! We also get to know Rigley, Will, Knox and crazy pants Marks a little more intimately. This is a continuation of an epic struggle between good and evil, human and alien as well as sane and nut bag crazy pants. It's a fast paced, intelligent and interesting read for SciFi and Horror fans alike. Read. This. Series!
There are six books in this series. It should have been written in two. The author goes on and on and on, page after page, when one or two paragraphs would do. I kept going, determined to get to the end to see what all my effort won me. And it was the biggest letdown. A good idea that lost its way.
On the surface, the Nemesis Series is a brilliant work of science fiction. In my opinion, it is some of the best science fiction ever written. It's a tale of an ancient planet in a distant universe inhabited by highly evolved, beautiful beings. Their civilization has thrived for eons but now the planet is dying and if their race is to survive, they must find a new planet to inhabit.
But, scratch that surface and you will find richly developed characters who have intriguing, relatable personalities. Mr Beers delves into the psychology of how far we will go and what we will do, not only for survival, but also for love.
Nemesis is a series and should be read as such. I wish I had the patience for any of Beer's series to be completed so I could read the story in one sitting. But, he's such a masterful storyteller that I can't possibly wait. I try to slow down and stretch the book out but, no matter how hard I try, I can't help devouring each story as if I've been starved.
What would you do to save your world…your species…your child…yourself?
In Nemesis V that answer is the same for each of the characters in the book….ANYTHING.
The saga continues the battle not only for control, but for ultimate survival of both the Humans and Extraterrestrials. Morena’s mission to populate the planet is complete. Now she and her husband, Briten, stand watch as the first of the offspring, Junior, sets about laying waste to what was once planet earth and the Human population.
Will the Humans find a way to defeat Junior and the growing Bynum army? Will Marks succeed with his plan to bring the aliens to heel along with his own agenda to rule everything in the end?
And, what role does Morena’s newly reincarnated mother, Helos play as the end nears?
With each book David Beers delves deeper into the phsyche’s of each of the characters in the saga. It is not a tale of only a few, but a huge cast of characters with hopes, fears, dreams and needs of their own. As far apart as they seem to be they all want one thing….survival. His quality of writing and character development in all 5 books are on par with any mainstream genre writer in the field….King…Bradbury…Asimov…to name a few.
I am grateful to be among the group of readers who get to preview his books before official release. Each one has been better than the last and I am always left saying to myself “Oh…no….that cannot be the last page….I wasn’t done yet.” I fully expect to feel the same when the final chapter in Book 6 is available.
I have enjoyed his writing such that I purchased this volume so that “verified purchaser” would show up at the beginning of the review. This series is worth every moment of time spent reading it and the purchase price for having done so. I eagerly await Book 6 to see how he ends the tale. Based on his other series, Devil’s Dream, there could quite easily be an unexpected wrinkle.
